The focus of our food philosophy is to provide children with fresh, simple, nutrient-rich, seasonal wholefoods. We offer balanced, high-quality menus that meet nutritional guidelines through an array of balanced meals and snacks within the centre.
We promote healthy eating for life through our menus, and by educating children on the importance of nutritious foods and their role in helping our bodies grow, play and thrive.
There is a focus on balancing the types of foods eaten throughout the week,
promoting healthy eating through novel ways of presentation and colours.
Our philosophy towards food also includes learning about healthy lifestyles and cooking.
We believe this is integral to children’s wellbeing and self-confidence, which in turn contributes to their ability to concentrate and learn.
At Highton Child Care & Development Centre, we offer balanced, high-quality menus that meet nutritional guidelines through an array of balanced meals and snacks offered throughout the day.
We enforce a strict "no nuts" policy,
and have additional management plans for children with special dietary requirements (due to allergies, intolerances or family preferences).
We also actively adhere to medical needs of children with allergies diagnosed by a medical practitioner.
